It's been forever since I've had a chance to sit down and write for some reason, but it's all good, since I think I'm the only person who's reading this at the moment anyway =p. Fun time at the game, though it was SO hot! Crowd was kinda meh today, a lot of people only came for the bats, and when Joba finished his pitch count for the day, many people just got up and left.
A few regulars here and there: Jack and co. were there, and I said hi to Henry and his entourage as I was walking up, and the nice dude with the gray hair and his daughter and her friend(I really need to learn people's names). No Tom and Marci, which kinda worked out since someone stole our seats for the second week in a row, and we ended up sitting a row back. Made it even worse when one of the ladies (Used very loosely) ended moving one row back to sit next to me, sprawled her legs feet towards me as I'm trying to watch the game. Not the most pleasant sight at a game... And a few hecklers when I was cheering, but I could care less.
I still don't know about this Joba starting and the pitch count. It's just kinda weird, and to be honest, it doesn't really seem like the Yanks have really thought it through how much their decision impacted the rest of the pitching staff. The obvious will point out the hole in the bullpen, but it becomes even more glaring when you have to take out your starter (Joba) in the 4th inning, and have your long man come in every 4th day like clockwork, along with the rest of the bullpen. And the pitchcount thing just looks so foolish when seeing it in action. The crowd booed when Giradi came out to take Joba out at 70 pitches. BUt I guess that's why he gets paid the big bucks and not us.
Other quick notes: New graphic was funny: The power of the Stache. 4 train didn't win today, which was terrible. And at least 5 people in our section couldn't be bothered to take off their hat during "God Bless America." Now I really think about it, a poor showing by Section 23 today, though the little kids were a lot of fun when they cheered. I pointed at some to be silly and they got excited when we were cheering. Does make me wish more of the regulars had stayed this year. Oh well.
A few hip hips as we were walking out, which is always nice =p I'll have to add more stuff about past games next chance I get to blog. Tailgating has been fun, and a lot cheaper too I think than going crazy buying stuff in the park. John tried to jinx us by talking about our w-l record on Sundays. I had to tell him to shush, don't want to spoil the nice runwe're having.
