No more Hip Hip this year?

So, Jorge is on the DL again and may require season-ending surgery on his shoulder. I guess I need to come up with a new cheer to do for the rest of the games. Would it be wrong to do "Hip Hip Jose?" Or that "Jose Jose"song? We might just have to go with Marci's "Let's go New Guy!" whenever any of the rookies are up. We usually do it for Brett Gardner, but if there is more than 1 rook in the lineup, why not? Shows you where my priorities are that I haven't actually commented on Jorge's injury.

Well, Max Kellerman brought up a few interesting points on the radio this morning, saying the following:

1. With Molina in the lineup, the staff ERA is one run lower, so it's like he gets an automatic RBI every game. As well as the difference in runners caught stealing. (Jorge's 9% to Molina's 50%)

2. With Cano starting to tear it up (.340 clip as of late), in terms of the batting order, it's like he's replacing Posada's bat, while Molina takes Robby's "place"in the lineup, when he was kinda stinking up the joint. So it almost evens out. Also, with Sexson platooning with Giambi, 1b is looking pretty good. Damon will be back in left, and now the bench is better with the rookie outfielders as pinch runners/speed, and Betemit to hit from either side.

Brian Kenny opined that it will be pretty bad without Posada and Matsui in the lineup. I can see his point with Matsui, since he was the Yankee's best hitter for a while this year. Posada is always more of a threat in the lineup than Molina, but he wasn't having that year he had last year. Needless to say, I hope things work out. It would be wrong if there were no October (and November) games in the Stadium this year.
